Since the 1970s Pelekas has been a favourite hideaway for independent holidaymakers who return to Corfu year after year. If you are looking for a new holiday destination, either in the quieter months at the beginning and end of the summer, or the livelier days and nights in July and August, then we would recommend Pelekas.

There is a regular free bus service to the the safe, sandy beaches of Kontogialos and Glyfada. A few kilometres away are the beaches of Mirtiotissa, Ermones and Agios Gordis.

Pelekas makes an ideal centre for further exploration of Corfu and is especially well suited for walkers in the cooler months of spring and late summer and is an ideal centre for walking part of The Corfu Trail - the long-distance footpath which runs the length of the island.

Corfu Town is only a 30 minute bus ride away although it is easy to rent a car or a bike. Nearby are Corfu Golf Club and Aqualand - one of the most amazing water adventure parks in Europe.
